Why Purchase an Extended Warranty for Your Vehicle

Drivers are holding on to their cars longer than they used to. According to R.L. Polk and Co., “Americans are keeping new vehicles an average of nearly six years.” This number is up from 2003 when Americans kept their cars for four years. With the economy still shaky, this trend doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon.

Buy an Extended Warranty, Buy Peace of Mind

Everyone knows the longer a car is on the road, the higher the chance of something going wrong. And there’s no doubt about it, even the most reliable vehicle will eventually break down. Since Americans are driving their cars longer than the average life of their car’s included warranty, coming out of pocket to repair a big-ticket item such as an automobile may likely devastate a savings account.

You are probably familiar with this scenario: Just when everything in life seems to be going smoothly, your car blows a spark plug -- the same day your home AC unit blows a fuse! But you don’t have to blow a gasket -- not if you have an extended warranty.

With an extended warranty in place, there’s no need to make the difficult decision of whether your family will have to go without the creature comfort of cool air or you will need to bum a ride from a coworker. An extended warranty gives you peace of mind knowing your car is covered outside its included warranty. You get your car serviced and your family gets the AC. Everybody is cool, everybody is happy.

What’s Covered Under an Extended Warranty?

There are many plans to choose from when selecting your extended warranty. “Warranties may include anything mechanical to basic drivetrain warranties depending on the year, mileage and what type of vehicle,” says JR Starrett, SJ Denham’s Sales Manager.

To find a plan that is right for you, do your homework. Have a good understanding of what’s covered and who’s providing the warranty before you buy. “At SJ Denham, we only deal with Chrysler factory-backed warranties,” says JR. “No aftermarket companies.”

Benefits Included in Your Chrysler Extended Warranty

    • Coverage across the United States,
    • First day rental and car rental allowance,
    • Towing roadside assistance,
    • Trip interruption protection, and
    • Roadside hazard, tire and wheel protection, to name a few.

    Affordable Assurance

To make extended warranties affordable, many companies offer financing that can be included in the vehicle loan, while other finance programs offer stand-alone financing with 0% for 12 months. Ask your dealer to share all available options so you can make a decision based on what best fits your budget.

You may need to use it, and you may not. Either way, you will enjoy driving your car for many years with the assurance that should an unexpected catastrophe occur, your extended warranty will have you covered.
